About
Heidi is a London-based artist and illustrator whose practice centres on the places and people who inspire her and feed her imagination. After a career in communications and as a translator/interpreter, Heidi completed a BA in Art and Design in 2021 and is currently artist in residence at Kingston College Creative Industries Centre.
Heidi’s work is suggestive of real and imagined narratives that evoke character and location. Her practice is firmly rooted in observation, with images translated into painting, collage and relief printing. This process enables her to interweave colour, texture and layering into her work, the palettes and cultural references absorbed during her travels serving as an important influence.
In recent projects, Heidi has taken visual narrative into new territories, creating video books and catalogues intended to provide audiences with a deeper insight into her core concerns. Currently, Heidi is experimenting with abstract forms inspired by natural and man-made landscapes.
